Spring is here - let Behrer Landscaping help!   Spring 2013

As we are now in the middle of March, it is reassuring, at least on the calendar, that Spring is not far away. It seems as though it has been a long, cold, windy winter, and even though we have not had many significant snowfalls, we have had a lot of light accumulations. I have constantly noticed myself looking for any signs of Spring growth, and have already noticed crocus, snowdrops and witch hazel in bloom, as well as buds beginning to expand on early Spring-blooming plants, a sure sign that nice weather is not far away.

As Spring approaches, we are gearing up to help serve you with your Spring landscaping needs, such as Spring cleanup of planting beds and lawns, pruning ornamental grasses and perennials for new Spring growth, edging and mulching planting beds, liming lawns, applying spring fertilization with crabgrass control and other services to help refresh and enliven your property.

We are also busy helping existing and new property owners plan for more major projects, such as ornamental planting designs and installation, lawn installation and hardscape design and installation. Hardscaping is one area in which we see increased interest by home owners every year, as well as the introduction of a new array of products.

As always, we are grateful for our existing customers and look forward to meeting and working with all of you who have an eye on improving and beautifying your residence. We would be happy to meet with you and discuss your needs.

We also offer a full range of services to commercial and professional accounts, and site, commercial and residential contractors.

Enjoy your Spring and let us help you make it more beautiful!

Fall Leaf   Fall 2012

Our company has suffered a great loss with the passing of our founder, Robert W. Behrer, on August 7. We appreciate the outpouring of sympathy in so many forms from our many friends, customers and business associates. He will be missed not only by our firm, but by many others. The business will continue under the same business principals that he had set, operated by his son, Kirk, who has worked with his father since his early teens. We will continue with the same skilled staff of employees which have always carried out our work.

We are pleased to have three entries in this Fall’s 2012 Parade of Homes and Landscapes, to be held on Friday, October 12, from 2:00 – 7:00 PM, Saturday, October 13, from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM and Sunday, October 14, from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.

These projects are located at 320 Misty Hill Drive, State College, PA, 235 Meadowsweet Drive, State College, PA and 738 North Harrison Road, Bellefonte PA (Click Here to see photos).

These various projects highlight inter-locking pavers, natural stone pavers, fire pits, retaining walls with lighting, aluminum fencing, natural stone treads, wet cast treads, lawn, forage and meadow mix seeding and ornamental plant material installation. Look for more information in the near future in the newspaper and in the Parade of Homes and Landscape booklets. We hope to see existing and potential new customers at these projects to see examples of the type of work and workmanship our staff performs.

As Fall approaches, it is a good time to make sure that your existing lawn and landscape is in good order for the remainder of the Fall and upcoming Winter. With cool temperatures it is also a good time to consider lawn installation, as well as new landscape plantings.

There is also still plenty of time to consider that hardscaping project that you have been thinking about. Although Spring is far away it is always nice to install bulbs in the Fall for Spring pleasure.

Whatever your needs, please feel free to contact us. We will be happy to help you.
